A History of Art in Chaldæa & Assyria, Vol. 1

This 1883 book by Georges Perrot and Charles Chipiez has just been released by Project Gutenberg as an eBook.



As always with these books, the attraction is the wonderful “period” artwork like that above and there are over 400 in the book.  However, in this case I was also attracted because the book provides a 100 plus page historical overview in Chapter 1:
