ADLG Stats Are Broken (For Now)

I have a penchant for data analysis. I blame my scientific background, but as a wargamer it comes in handy sometimes.

One such occasion was when I investigated the myth of "Super Armies" in Art de la Guerre (ADLG) in 2018. I've continued my interest in this area, but I recently uncovered a significant problem with the data I've been using.

The latest addition to my Hellenistic army is a bit of a mystery because I can't find the code anywhere on the Essex web site! They are undoubtedly from Essex and, with the larger heads, I suspect they are one of their later sculpts.

15 mm Later Thracians (Essex Miniatures)

With this post my 2024 Hellenistic project reaches an important milestone. The units pictured are the last I must paint before the KITN competition in October. Their completion means that anything I paint after this is a bonus.

Once again they are venerable Essex sculpts (MPA3 Thracian: Peltast with Rhomphaia & shield). Well up to their usual standard with few, if any, defects and a more detailed figure review isn't necessary. However, one rhomphaia was miscast but a call to Essex sorted that out very quickly.
