DBMM For The Befuddled – Part 5

One of the things that helps the Befuddled is the DBMM Commentary produced by Rob Brennan, Tim Child, Lorenzo Mele and Toby Partridge.  It’s [was] available as a double pdf download at dbmm.org.uk; one version matches the pages in the rule book whilst the other is condensed to save paper.

There’s only one problem. The full version is 43 pages.  Even the condensed version is 26 pages and that’s a lot of paper.  Double page printing onto A4 does get it down to 13 for the condensed version but I’ve managed to get it down to 7 and produce a readable A5 booklet to boot!  I did this by:
  1. Using http://bookletcreator.com/ to convert the original pdfs into a printable booklets.
  2. Printing the odd pages from Adobe Acrobat using the print to fit option.
  3. Then I put the paper back in the printer and printed the even pages from Adobe Acrobat using the print to fit option.
  4. Finally I folded it in half to give a nice A5 booklet just like the old DBM rule books and army lists.
To save you the trouble of step 1 here are the condensed booklet (7 pages) and the full booklet (10 pages) as pdf files.  Remember these are A3 not A4 documents: you must use the print to fit option.

I suppose you could go further and staple it together but my home stapler isn’t big enough but I’m sure lots of you will have access to a big enough stapler in the office.
